The Santa Monica History Museum is excited to announce the next installment of our free Discover the History lecture series on Wednesday, March 9th, 2016 at 6:00pm at the Santa Monica History Museum at 1350 7th Street, Santa Monica, CA 90401. This lecture will be a commemoration of Women’s History Month. We are excited to have Santa Monica Chief of Police Jacqueline A. Seabrooks as our special guest speaker. Chief Seabrooks will discuss her journey to becoming the first African American, female Chief of Police for the City of Santa Monica.

She has more than three decades of progressively responsible municipal policing experience including service with the California State Police Division, the Inglewood Police Department, and the Santa Monica Police Department.

Chief Seabrooks holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Public Policy and Administration from California State University, Dominguez Hills, and California State University, Long Beach respectively. She is a graduate of the FBI’s National Academy, the FBI Law Enforcement Executive Development Seminar, Police Executive Research Forum’s Senior Management Institute for Police, and the Harvard Kennedy School’s Senior Executives in State and Local Government.
