Employees Community Fund of Boeing California

An employee-owned and operated nonprofit organization, Employees Community Fund of Boeing California combines the assets of the former Douglas Aircraft Welfare Foundation and the contributions of Boeing employees made through payroll deductions to support charitable organizations in areas where contributors live and work.  The Fund supports a wide range of vital human services, including health care medical research, education, youth activities and community enrichment programs. Funds are distributed by an employee board of directors, with allocations based in large part on employee referrals and employee contributions in each community and the comparative need. Its Community Fund spnosored the museum’s Donald Douglas Aircraft interactive exhibit. Visitors enter a replica of an under-construction middle section of a Douglas DC-3 airplane. A diorama showing Rosie the Riveter at work, photos and artifacts tell the stories of those who were an integral part of the Douglas Aircraft history in Santa Monica.
