The next Discover the History lecture in our 2018 series will be Saturday, January 20th, at 3:00pm. This event will be a panel discussion on the history of Providence Saint John’s Health Center.

Speakers will include:
John R. Sellman, MD
Past Saint John’s Health Center Board of Directors (1991 – 1997), and its treasurer from 1995-1997, elected Chairman effective November 1, 1998. Past president of the medical staff in 1985 and 1986 and chairman of the Department of Surgery from 1988-1990. Dr. Sellman is an orthopaedic surgeon and first physician to lead the Board. He joined the staff in 1971.

John M. Robertson, MD
Saint John’s Health Center Board of Directors (2015 − present).  Past Chairman, Saint John’s Health Center Foundation Board of Trustees 2012-2014. Foundation Trustee since 1996. Director of thoracic and cardiovascular surgery at Saint John’s, past president of the Medical Staff in 2000 −2001. Dr. Robertson joined the staff in 1987.

Sister Maureen Craig, SCL
Sister Maureen, St. John’s archivist, came to Saint John’s in 1987 following a long career as an English teacher.  Sister has served as chaplain to the Foundation, the Physicians Alumni Association and the Cleft Palate Program.  She also serves as a foundation trustee.   

Robert O. Klein, President and CEO of Saint John’s Health Center Foundation, will introduce the panel.

This program is free and open to all ages. Seating is limited and on a first arrival basis.  This event will be held at the Santa Monica History Museum, 1350 7th St, Santa Monica CA, 90401.  The museum can be reached by following routes to the Main Library.  The Main Library is served by Big Blue Bus routes 1, 7, R7, R10 and 18. Ride your bike? Bicycle parking racks are available at the library. The Santa Monica History Museum is wheelchair accessible.
