This note is for Jim Harris. I saw the segment on the pier during the super bowl pregame show. I grew up in Santa Monica and visited the pier on a near daily basis around fifty to sixty years ago. I rode that carousel you stood in front of many times over the years. My family would fish off the pier and my dad would always stop by and talk for a while with a guy named “Pops” who, if memory serves, ran the carousel. It was great to see the pier–as you said, World Famous Pier–in such capable and dedicated hands. Just wanted to thank you for your part in keeping the history alive and taking care of the old Yacht Harbor.
