Firefighters Survey Arson Damage to St. Augustine by-the-Sea Church

This exhibit explores how the Santa Monica Fire Department evolved from a small town bucket brigade into one of the premiere, most progressive city fire department in the United States. Supported by over 50 historical photographs and artifacts, visitors are transported through the ages of firefighting.

Palisades Park, Beach Homes and Pier, Santa Monica

The lecture follows the history of the Santa Monica Beach north of the Santa Monica Pier to Santa Monica Canyon. Marc Wanamaker traces the development of the beach from tents to house to beach clubs on the beach to this day.

West Los Angeles Auxiliary Policewomen's Force on World War II Beach Patrol

In honor of Women’s History Month, we honor the Santa Monica Women of World War II. American Women were crucial to the war effort- especially in Santa Monica.

Author Scott Tracy Griffin will examine the numerous connections between the novelist Burroughs, the character Tarzan, and the City of Santa Monica on the centennial of the first Tarzan book publication.
