TOPIC:  The Santa Monica Pier with guest speaker and prize-winning author and playwright James Harris

Rich-Schmitt-Photography-027James Harris is the Pier Historian and Community Event Liaison for Santa Monica Pier Corporation. An important part on the Pier since 1989, he established the foundation of his knowledge about the Pier and its people, and never stopped learning. His writing credits include stage plays An Illegal Start and “Save the Pier!”; the children’s book Stella Rose and the Sea Dragon, occasional columns in Santa Monica Daily Press and the Pier’s official history book, Santa Monica Pier: A Century on the Last Great Pleasure Pier.
